Child passes away from injuries received in Ukrainian drone assault
Khinshtein expressed deep condolences to the boy’s family and vowed to provide them with full support. He explained that the child had suffered burns over more than 30% of his body — a devastating injury, especially for someone so young.
This latest death brings the total number of fatalities from Tuesday’s drone strike to four. At least nine others were wounded, suffering from shrapnel injuries and burns.
The attack occurred as civilians gathered to celebrate the Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity, a Russian holiday observed on July 8.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned the drone strike and criticized the nations supplying military aid to Ukraine. “Those sending weapons to Kiev must realize they are contributing to the deaths of children,” she stated.
The Kursk Region has frequently been targeted by Ukrainian drones, artillery, and missiles throughout the conflict. It also faced a major incursion last August, during which Ukrainian forces briefly occupied several villages and the border town of Sudzha.
Following the region’s liberation in April, Russian authorities reported uncovering evidence of widespread abuse and atrocities committed against local civilians.
